We used Energy Select about 2 years ago to install solar panels on our house. We found the owner of the business and all his staff easy to deal with and very responsive to any issues that we had during the installation process. They are very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest in the solar industry. Energy Select also did an energy audit of our home. We also recommended them to 2 local businesses to change their lighting to efficient LED, and both were very satisfied. Over all I would highly recommend Energy Select. 06/26/2025 update: One of the best decisions I have made. The system is working great. Recent warm month bills have been in the negative balance and I still get an SREC deposit every month (used to be quarterly). Buy solar, don't lease. The decision to go with a local company was the right move. I vetted out both Energy Select and a large national company. We just completed our solar project with Energy Select. We could not have asked for a better experience with them. We chose Energy Select over all of the other providers in the area because of a few things. First and foremost, you can literally see the growth of the company occur in the reviews. When reading the early reviews, they weren't great, but you can see where they take the feedback onboard and improve all of their processes. When customers complained about communication, they put in a communication department with dedicated advisors. When folks complained about timelines and not knowing where they were in the process, they implemented a tracker in their app to allow the customer to track where they are in the process and what occurs at that point in the process. Another key factor for us is the fact that Energy Select uses their own crews to perform all of the work. This means that if there were to be a warranty covered issue, I deal with Energy Select only and not some other company that the work was sub-contracted out to. What if that company goes under and they are no longer around to be held accountable to the warranty? Now your paying for work that should be covered. They are local to Leonardtown and St Mary's county. This is huge for us. They live among us, they work among us. For us, by us is how we see it. Who better to service this area than the folks from this area! I would love to call  everyone by name, but they are truly a team over there and to single anyone out wouldn't be fair. Great job Energy Select team! We look forward to doing business again on some battery storage in the future! 10/10 highly recommend this team for your solar needs. Karen's customer service & direction has been top notch. She leaves no stone unturned in getting the information that you need. Most months we are charged by our power company just the distribution fee due to having the solar panels installed by Energy Select. Energy Select installed a 10 kW ground mount system at our vacation home in Garrett County three weeks ago. The installation was somewhat complicated by the sloping terrain. The 3-man crew was very professional, highly competent, and completed the installation in 3 days. The system is up and running and operating as expected.
